Managed printers are those campus-owned laser printers that fall under a management contract. Such printers receive service and supplies from a third-party service provider.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which printers are covered by the managed printer contract?
By default, the following items are considered for coverage under the managed printer contract:
- Is the printer a laser printer? Only laser printers are eligible for coverage under the contract. Inkjet printers, plotters, and other specialty printers are not eligible for coverage.
- Is the printer directly connected to the network? If yes, we will automatically cover the printer under the managed printer contract.
Can I request my printer be managed?
If you have questions regarding the coverage of specific printer, please open a TeamDynamix Help Request and someone will contact you to discuss this further.
When will I receive replacement toner for my printer?
Any printer that is connected directly to the campus network is monitored 24 x 7 for low toner and other supply needs. When the toner reaches 30% of capacity, an alert will be triggered that will automatically request the needed supplies. The supplies will be delivered initially to the Service Desk, then one of their staff will hand-deliver the toner to the office where the printer is located.
For any printer that is not covered under the contract (e.g. not a network printer), it is the responsibility of the department where the printer resides to provide all supplies and pay for servicing.
